Robert G. Dluhy, M.D.

Professor Dluhy received his undergraduate education at Princeton University and his medical training at Harvard Medical School. He completed his internship, residency training and a fellowship in endocrinology at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, Boston, under the direction of Professor George W. Thorn. His earlier research contributions focused on the regulation of aldosterone levels in blood by the renin-angiotensin system and potassium in normals and hypertensives. More recently, a chimeric gene duplication causing an inherited form of form of hypertension, glucocorticoid - remediable aldosteronism, was identified by his group and the phenotype of this disorder has been characterized.

Professor Dluhy is currently serving on the editorial board of the journal Clinical Endocrinology. In May of 2001 was appointed the Associate Editor of the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine.
