Mission Statement
The Thorn Center for Endocrine Disorders, established in 1995 at Brigham & Women's Hospital, brings together the clinical and research expertise of physicians and biomedical scientists in the Hospitals Division of Endocrinology to identify new treatments and gain greater insight into the causes of four of the countrys most prevalent medical conditions:
- Calcium Disorders including Osteoporosis
- Diabetes including Diabetes in Pregnancy Program
- Hypertension
- Thyroid disorders
By collaborating in these efforts, the more than 40 scientists and 100 staff members of the Thorn Center are making critically important advances in their understanding of these chronic conditions, which together afflict more than 100 million people throughout the United States.
